News from Nepal and EC

Ram has sent over a catalogue of the Pashmina colours which he could bring over in his forthcoming visit. We are hoping to sell these items to help fund the project. I also have photos of the Jewellery available to bring over. Any advise on selling these - which would be most popular - and if you want to order anything ask Ram or Nick ASAP. I'll add the photos of the jewellery soon. Written by Nick

Regarding the political situation, it is getting better than before, lots of things are happening. Reinstated parliament has already cut off all the powen of king. Both Maoists and political parties have agreed to hold the constituent assembly to draft the new constution which will also decide if the country will remain republic or figur head king. It seems that we won't have king in the country soon. Under the agreement of Maoists and the governemnt(coalliation of 7 political parties), special commission is preparing the Interim act which help to bring the maoists into the new government and this government will hold the constituent assembly. But There is a big discussion on Maoists arms. Current government wants the maoists to hand over their arms before they join in interim government, but the maoists are not ready for that they says that they only hand over their arms after the constituent assembly election. In the mean while while, their arms can be supervised by UN or some international community. In my opinion, Maoists should give up their arms before they join in the interim government and creat the environment for the peace. No other party have arms with them except Maoists, no one can go for the polls with arms. Once the maoists join in the interim government, Nepalese Army will also belong to them. Beside the arm management, Maoists and the government are almost agreed on other political agendas hope they will be able to reach in an agreement for the settlement of the Maoists arms soon and they don't go back to jungle again.

Ram is coming to England
Date: 06/08/2006
I'm thinking to come to England in December though I need to consult with you a lot in this regard. I am thinking to focus on our project more than before. So, The main purpose to come to England in Dec. is to make a fund raise for the project. I'm planning to bring some stuffs from Nepal with me like Handicrafts stuffs, Pashmina shawls, Silver jewellery etc. which I heard there is a big market in Europe. We may invite relatives and friends for the tea party(just for example, we may do some other different things too) and will show them the photos of our projects, like children' s family, their houses, and their life style etc. and they can involve in our projects those who are interested and buy the stuffs that I brought from Nepal, we tell them that all the profit will go for the projects. I heard that you people in England buy lots of presents for the Christmas, if they buy from us which will be cheaper and also helping in Nepal's projects. What do you think about this ideas? Please do give me some suggestions so that we can do it more effectively.
